The Blue Roots Residency is the first step in bringing URE's long-term vision to life. This eight-week guaranteed-income and wayfinding program provides BTGNC creators with housing, financial support, community care, and space to rest, heal, and create during a time of deep sociopolitical unrest.

URE is currently seeking $17,600 to fund one residency cycle for eight participants.

Devised Dispersion Theatre

$37,000 per chapter, per production

​

Devised Dispersion Theatre develops original theatrical works created by and for the BTGNC community. Each production requires $12,000 for concept development and $25,000 for production development, supporting the artists, collaborators, and infrastructure needed to move a new work from collective creation to performance.

Circuit Fest

Invest in independent artist infrastructure

​

Circuit Fest is intentionally designed to strengthen independent artist infrastructure. We begin by centering BTGNC creators and organizers, with the long-term goal of expanding access to Queer people of color, communities of color, and eventually independent artists more broadly.

​

Circuit Fest provides paid opportunities for BTGNC artists and event producers while connecting communities through shared cultural experiences, collaborative storytelling, and community care. By investing in local curators rather than requiring communities to fit within URE's existing geographic structure, each place can shape its own expression of culture, creativity, and community.

Projected Funding Needs:

Funding Circuit Fest helps URE grow a distributed model for addressing inequitable access to resources and opportunities for independent arts and cultural production.

Shaping Sanctuary

Invest in BTGNC cooperative infrastructure

​

Shaping Sanctuary: A Cooperative Housing Development Program is a year-long initiative equipping BTGNC creative collectives with the tools, relationships, and infrastructure needed to build sustainable, community-rooted living ecosystems of care.

​

URE hopes to launch the first 2027–2028 cohort in Fall 2027, bringing together eight BTGNC creative collectives for a year-long cooperative development process. Each participating fellow will receive a $12,000 stipend, providing direct economic support while they develop and strengthen their collective practices.

Our goal is to support eight fellows annually, creating an ongoing national ecosystem of BTGNC creative collectives that can share resources, knowledge, relationships, and strategies for sustaining their communities.

Minimum Direct Funding Ask: $96,000 annually for participant stipends
($12,000 × 8 fellows)

Additional funding will support program facilitation, cooperative development, technical assistance, and the infrastructure required to sustain the cohort.
